EXTERIOR INSULATION & FINISH SYSTEMS
EIFS.
Built in layers.
Insulation, reinforcement, and a customizable finish, working together on the outside of your building.
EIFS is a multi-layered exterior wall cladding used on homes and commercial properties. It combines insulation boards, a mesh-reinforced base coat, and an architectural finish. The finished surface may resemble stucco, but there is more to the system than its appearance.

THE BENEFITS
Performance beneath the finish.
Energy efficiency
Continuous exterior insulation reduces heat transfer through the wall and its framing, helping limit thermal bridging. It can support more consistent indoor temperatures and reduce heating and cooling demand.
Design flexibility
A range of colors, textures, trim profiles, and finish options makes EIFS adaptable to both traditional and contemporary buildings. The appearance can be tailored to the property.
A lighter exterior
EIFS can create a substantial finished appearance with less weight than traditional cement stucco or many masonry finishes. Suitability still depends on the existing wall and the selected assembly.
A reinforced finish
Mesh reinforcement contributes to crack resistance. With appropriate detailing, installation, and maintenance, the layered assembly provides a durable exterior finish for homes and commercial properties.
Energy performance depends on the insulation, complete wall assembly, and building conditions. Results vary by project.

WHEN TO CALL BTF ROCKS
Does your EIFS need attention?
If you’ve noticed changes in your exterior, BTF Rocks can inspect the affected areas, review your concerns, and discuss repair options for your home or commercial property.
Schedule an inspectionCracks or impact damage
Visible cracks, dents, or punctures deserve a closer look. We can assess the affected area and recommend repairs suited to your existing finish.
Recurring stains
Streaks or discoloration that keep returning may need more than cleaning. An inspection can help determine whether maintenance or repairs are needed.
Loose or bulging areas
Changes in the shape of the surface or areas that appear to be separating are reasons to have the exterior checked before covering them up.
Gaps around openings
Cracked or separated sealant around windows, doors, and other connections can leave openings for water. These details are worth including in an exterior inspection.
